Crawfish & Drago's

Does anyone know when crawfish are in season? Or are they available year round? What's a good place to sample some? Also, has anyone heard of Drago's? I hear their roasted oysters are to die for. Thanks for any information.
Definitely go to Drago's and have their grilled oysters. They are oysters on the half-shell grilled with herbs, and they are addictive. I've never seen them anywhere else. I don't have the exact address, but it is in a section of Metairie known as "Fat City," behind the Lakeside (?) Mall at the Causeway and Veterans.

Crawfish are in season, like, right now. As for Drago's--strictly prefab suburban seafood: no better, for the most part, than a Red Lobster, which in fact it strongly resembles.
The grilled oysters though, which are blasted with garlic and green-can parmesan, are trashy yet somehow compelling.
While Drago's perhaps can't be helped for having a suburban location, it does have downtown parking problems. Best to get there early as the place fills up quickly. When I mean early I mean 5:30.
While the rest of the menu may not be as good as most would desire, they do oysters as well as anyone and for many that is the only reason they go. A dozen charbroiled and a dozen on the half, along with a soup, make a perfect meal. For $25 this is an outstanding value. The best entree is the Oysters Pasta. Unfortunately the bread they insist on serving, a necessity for both the charbroiled oysters and the Oysters Pasta dish, is horrible.
Drago's needs few defenders as the restaurant is exactly as it presents itself: an oyster lovers hang out.
