From what I've read about Uglesich's here and other places, Uglesich's is open pretty much year round Monday to Friday.

I'm from sf, but on local word happened to enjoy a couple of memorable lunches at uglesich's over the past yr (yeah, check my expense report). They said last year they would be packing it in for the summer, approx memorial day til labor day if memory serves.

Beyond the obvious advice wrt fried grn tomatoes and everything else, these folks make a mean bloody mary.

Matter of fact, this is my first chowhound posting. Woohoo.

Like many other New Orleans restaurants, Uglesich's closes down for part of the summer. Call them and ask what their summer schedule will be.

I know that, if you are planning a trip to Mosca's, they are always closed all of August. I would imagine, though, that most of the restaurants in the higher tourist traffic areas such as the French Quarter remain open throughout the summer.

i recall anthony saying they close in july and august and go to california! but definitely call ahead. you don't want to miss those oysters.
