Mike's on the Avenue

Does anyone know what happened to this restaurant? We ate there a couple years ago during Jazz Fest. It was one of the best meals I've ever had.

I heard the place was owned by a married couple who split, and that was why the restaurant closed. Have either party reopened anything in NOLA?

Mike of Mike's on the Avenue -- i can't remember his last name -- sold the restaurant about two years ago to -- ulp! -- Mike Ditka, ex-coach of the Saints, who promptly converted it into one of his upscale macho man-meat franchise grills named, duh, mike's. if you like that stuff, i've heard it isn't the worst food in the world, but i've never been there.
the old mike moved to san francisco, and his partner has opened a restaurant in abita springs called artesia. haven't been there either.
