MSP: Irn-Bru?
Last spring I visited Scotland, and I fell in love with Irn-Bru soda. I brought back a few small bottles, and I'm still clinging to my last one. We found bottles for sale last year at the Scottish festival in Rosemount, but we can't make it there this year.
Does anyone know of somewhere around the Twin Cities where I can buy Irn-Bru?

Ike,
I saw Irn-Bru (in a can) in the vending machine on the porch at Irish on Grand.
They were not open so I was not sure if they had bottles of it inside but worth a call or vist. 1124 Grand Ave. St. Paul, Minnesota 55105 651-222-5151
Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat: 10am-6pm, Wed & Thur: 10am-8pm, Sun: 12am-5pm
I too am looking for a case of it. Bought 2 cases a few years ago at the Socttish fest in St Paul and I am down to one bottle.
Take care, wildkat91›2 Replies-

So I stopped by on Saturday afternoon, but the store was closed for Easter and the machine was out of order. They're open until 8 on Wednesdays and Thursdays though, so I'm planning a visit this week. I can't believe they're only $1.50! I'm certainly going to grab a bunch of them. Can't wait!

Good call, guys. We might have to check out the Ramble. We were going to go last year, but we had some friends in town I think. And we missed the Scottish Fair last summer too. It was in favor of a lakeside pig roast though, so I don't feel TOO bad. :)
I was really hoping there would just be a shop I could go buy one or two, but this might be my only option. Maybe next time I go to Chicago I can find somewhere.

Heh, we talked about Irn-Bru last night at the Midtown Global Market chowdown as we sampled Inca Kola. I have heard that there are only two countries in the world where the local carbonated beverage outsells Coca Cola: Peru (Inca Kola) and Scotland (Irn-Bru).
I have seen Irn-Bru sold at local Scottish events. The next opportunity would be Scottish Ramble at the Landmark Center held every February:

re: Neitz
Neitz, when I saw this post, I wondered if Irn-Bru was what you were talking about at the chowdown and hoped you'd happen upon this thread!
In the link Neitz provided you can click on "exhibitors" then "vendors"--I wonder if any of these vendors can be permanent local sources for Irn-Bru. Worth checking out, perhaps, Ike.?
Actually, it looks like one of the vendors used to be a local(ish) source of Irn-Bru, but now only sells via the web: http://www.sarahgoodrichdesigns.com/i...

Sure, it's always more fun to get things locally, but you can always order it on-line.

I'm around Rosemount, Apple Valley, Burnsville all the time so I'll keep my eyes open for you. But it's possible the Scottish festival people ordered on-line as well.›2 Replies-

You might try a Google search for Highland Games in Minnesota. We're coming into the season, and I have to think there are quite a few around the area. After all, McAlester College in St. Paul is one of the few places in the US you can actually get a performance major in Highland Bagpipe.
