We haven't eaten at Otto's on Mineral Point Rd in 7 or 8 years. Is it still wonderful?? Or is there someplace better to try next weekend? Also what is the best Thai spot in Madison?

  1. Otto's is still wonderful. For Thai, I'd go for the curries at Firefly (although they do other Asian cuisines - and Asian fusion - there) or Lao Laan Xang, which is technically Laotian, but many of the dishes are the same.

    1. Otto's is a terrific spot, especially for meats/chops and drinks/wine list. Also quite reasonable.

As far as Thai, Sa Bai Thong http://www.sabaithong.com/ is better than Lao Laan Xang, in my opinion. I am a regular at Sa Bai but have to admit I have not been at Lao Laan Xang in a while. The westside Sa Bai Thong on Odana Road is quieter than the one on University Avenue but I think the service is better on University Ave. Get the Pad Ka-ri if you want a flavorful curry dish.
