I've had pretty decent fish and chips at Claddagh Irish Pub at Legacy Village. The half portion is more than enough for one average-size person's lunch. The batter is crisp and light, over large pieces of fish. Plus, the beer selection is pretty good.

it would go over well in clevo, for a local twist they could even add walleye and perch to the cod!

That little shop looks great! But if there is one like that in Cleveland, I don't know about it.
I haven't had the fish & chips at Harp recently, but do recall that the food there was quite good (shepherd's pie and the like). I suspect the fish & chips there are reliably good. Plus, they have good beer, a great atmosphere and deck dining in the summer!

I've had the fish and chips at the Claddagh in Indianapolis and they are good. If there's one in Cleveland you should definitely give it a try. I did make the mistake of ordering the large portion the first time. Man! That's a lot of food.

The Harp gets my vote for the best fish and chips in Cleveland. I always add hot sauce to the tartar sauce, reminds me of how we had the dish in London.
BTW Ohio City, Lagacy Village is on the east side - get out your passport and come on over. It's near Beachwood Mall at the corner of Richmond and Cedar Roads. But beware, the restaurants are all chains, including the awful Cheesecake Factory. You're much better off at the Harp, which is owned by a local gal of Irish descent.
