Me too! Also an Air UPSer in Louisville for a few months on and off.
Any suggestions are very welcome since I have had my share of Cheddar's and similar chains. There must be Chowhounds in Louisville, so all replies are welcome.
Places that I have enjoyed so far include:
Martini House - Midwest chain restaurant with acceptable Italian food.
The Fish Market - part of the same chain as above, but it seems that they have fresh fish daily. I had a good gumbo there and a nice salad. My Co-worker had a great fish stew that almost rivaled SF cioppino.
McAllister's Deli - right across Air UPS. Great lunch spot if you need lunch in a hurry.
Uptown Cafe - nice restaurant on Bardstown Rd

I've been to McAlisters. It was pretty good. A heck of a lot better than Subway!

Maido on Frankfort Avenue. Japanese. Some sushi, but mostly small dishes of great variety, priced to order several at once. Freshly made and delicious.

We were in Louisville over the weekend for a soccer tournament, and while the team went to Chili's I went to Maido. Many interesting selections, and well priced. The hamachi collar and the grilled eel were great. Everything else was good or better. Certainly worth a visit if you're looking for something a bit off the beaten path.

The Mayan Cafe downtown is fantastic. It was one of the best meals I have had dining out. Different and inventive.

You may have a problem with your question since this board does not include Kentucky. Try to post it on the South board. Anyways, I have had several excellent meals at Seviche. Proof on Main has been getting a lot of discussion, but I have not tried it yet. Both of these restaurants have websites. If you are interested in Cuban food, Havana Rumba and Mojitos are both excellent food and great prices. Jack Fry's is another popular Louisville restaurant, but I was not impressed the time I ate there. The louisvillehotbytes link from el jeffe is a good start. Good luck.

True, I don't think of Louisville as midwest in style or food; but it's close to Cinci, which seems to have quite a rep on this board.
What does it take to satisfy anyone?
I'll be on the infield at Derby this weekend, if anyone wants to join me. And I'll be closer to turn one, if you're wondering.
