As I recall, it's a version of chimichurri that's a heavier on parsley/oregano than cilantro.
It was chimichurresque, though I thought I tasted dill and fennel (6 years after the OP). Magnus is closed now but the chef is still in Madison, at 43 North. Dunno if the sauce went with him.
