Edmonds or OT Hodges chili (chile)- St. louis
Anyone have a recipe for their chili?
Or the secret ingredients they use? Is it coca powder like Steak-n-Shakes?
Googling was no help.
If asking for a recipe here is not OK, I'm sorry. I didn't see any mention of it in the rules, and I thought I've seen recipes here before.
I reaize it's been almost 5 years since your question, but I thought you'd like to know (if you don't already) that Edmond's chili, which is supposedly the same as OT Hodges, is now available at Dierberg's grocery store. My husband and I just found it last night...haven't tried it yet though!! It is sold in a meat tube similar to what ground Jimmy Dean sausage comes in. It is frozen.
Edmunds has been at the grocery store for ages. I started buying it at least 15 years ago. It's thick so you may want to add about 1-2 cups of water when you reheat it- Grab some tamales while you are at it and top w/ cheese and onion!
Your OOP cost will be about $10 for 8 chili tamales vs $6 for 1 at Crown Candy (they use edmund's chili and tamales there too)
