Oconomowoc, Wi

My girlfriend recently moved to Oconomowoc and everytime we go out to eat we go to Delafield or Brookfield or Waukesha or whatever.

My question is, are there any good resturants we should be trying out in Oconomowoc, instead of driving to neighboring towns?

Thanks.

Is the gelato place still on the main street? If so, get yourselves there NOW! The gelato was really good when we were there last fall.

Yes Golosi's Gelato in Oconomowc is still running strong (www.foodspot.com/golosi). I particularly enjoy their amaretto cookies and whiskey gelatos - and I'm not a drinker! They also serve a nice lunch and light dinner.

We were in NYC not too long ago and tried a two of the highly recommended gelato shops and frankly we believed Golosi was equal if not better. This is a true treasure of the area and not to be missed.

Around the Lakes is the best.
We just got a Chilies too.
Georgina's and George Webbs are nice on occasion.

The Kiltie is great for in the summer, it's a drive-in.

I don't know of any restaurants, But I do know that Oconomowoc is one of the pretties towns I have seen anywhere in this country. I hope it still smells like bread baking. There used to be an amazing cheese factory just outside, I had eight-year old cheddar there that was incredible.

I've heard good things from a co-worker about the Main Street Depot - the old train station. Good steaks, kabobs, tap beers, etc. She said Spinnaker's is good too, on the lake, and in the summer you can relax outside or in. She likes Main Street a little better though.
