paging deven black-great chinese on WI/IL border

zim Jun 7, 2002 11:56 AM

for those of you who don't read chowalert (which is great vicarious enjoyment) deven black described a long-ago fantastic off-the-menu meal he had long at a run-of -the-mill chinese restuarant on the illinois/wisconsin border.

Deven, if you read this what was the name - maybe hounds can find out if its still in business?

a sample (though not the issue I mentioned) of chowalert can be seen at the attached link

Sorry, didn't see your message before today. I don't remember the name of the restaurant (it was more than 20 years and a lot of meals ago), but it was near a resort I believe was called The Wagon Wheel in Rockton (or something like that) IL.

That would have been when the Man family ran the China Palace in Rockton, Illionis. They are amazing cooks, but have, regrettably, relocated to the West Coast. The Wagon Wheel is no more, having suffered from neglect and vandalism, before being torched and 'dozed.

How on Earth do you find a four year old message to respond to?
