1970s Columbus eats-Max's Downtown and Warren's
These are 2 places I used to go to when attending OSU in 70s.
Max's was a downtown restaurant-Gay or Broad St. that had some good sandwiches.
Warren's was this tiny sandwich shop (seated 10-12) that was open only overnight and was run by Warren Gardener. It was on High St, a few miles north of campus.
They're both gone as far as I can tell. Anybody remember these places.

Isn't that the Max of Max and Irma's?
Well, cheer up, Talita's still exists. But the Castle, the Agora, the Travel Agency, the Big Bear bakery, are all gone. These days a lot of the south campus is being bought up, by eminent domain sometimes, by Campus Partners, who plan to make it clean and modern and safe and trendy and as profitable as possible.
EVIL GRIN I think I still have the Parts Department sign from Waterbeds & Stuff.

re: Alex
Thanks for update.
The Max's I refer to was a downtown restaurant on a street that ran perindicular to High St. It was an older place that had seen better days.
When I was there there were only 2 Max & Erma's in the whole chain.
I've heard what has happened to South Campus. I'll miss the TA. I remember drinking the Zingers there late at night.
Waterbeds and Stuff!!!! I used to "shop" there but that is for another board I guess. These are PC times. (I actually lived a block away from their other branch on North High right next to IHOP).
Do you remember Andy Capps, later renamed Andy's Pub on High right near 13th?
