My two adult kids were home this weekend and we dropped into Pho Grand for lunch before going to the movies. This Vietnamese spot is the granddaddy of what has become a very widely accepted cuisine on Grand Avenue and elsewhere in the city. I wanted only a small lunch so ordered spring rolls and wonton soup. I was intrigued by wonton soup in this restaurant never having seen it on similar menus. It was just wonderful. The wontons were so incredibly delicate and the broth certainly unlike any other wonton soup broth I'd had before. Lots of fish sauce was their secret, I believe. They had a pig's foot pho that I must try when I'm hungrier.
I hope someone who can get there is reading this. Are you out there, Gabriel?? Pat
