If you are there at lunchtime on a weekday (when all the stations are open) don't discount the hospital cafeteria, Spice of Life, on the 2nd floor (public welcome). They have a wonderful sandwich station with all kinds of choices---sandwiches are made to order and cost about one-third of what they do on the outside, and everything is very clean and fresh. The soups are so-so and the desserts are a mistake. You also will have a Corner Bakery right across St Clair that does sandwiches. Back at NW, next to Spice of Life is a branch of Au Bon Pain that has slightly better soup than Spice of Life and I think they may also do sandwiches. There 's also a Treasure Island supermarket in the lobby of the big-huge condo building at Huron & McClurg, and there you can get all kinds of deli-type stuff.
