Does anybody know what is going on with it? A while ago it was closed with a sign out front that the closure is temporary, but its been (IIRC) at least 10 days now.

Not that anyone will probably see this down here.....

I live down Smith road from Eurofresh. There was a small fire.... nothing that did too much damage (this info from the guy who owns the liquor store in the same plaza... Jack, a great guy). While I had *hoped* they were just doing cleanup, some signs out front today confirmed they are doing one of the things I feared, improvements. Which I guess is a good thing. :)

And man... don't even try going to the Caputos in Palatine. The place has been constantly mobbed since Eurofresh closed. We're talking NO open parking spaces in the whole plaza lot.

I found this site while looking for info on the Eurofresh reopening. I hope they're not doing too many "improvements". I liked the funky out of date style it had before, and I'm afraid all the remodeling will result in higher prices.

The Eurofresh fire has had a terrible effect on our food budget as well as the variety of things we're buying. For the last six weeks, it seems we never have any food in the house! I am sick of Dominick's and Jewel!

Tina, I'm with you! I can't wait for Eurofresh to reopen and I REFUSE paying $9/lb for lunch meat at Jewel or Domininck's.

In the meantime I've been shopping at the Harvest Market in Arlington Heights (at Rand Rd. and Arlington Heights Rd. right next to the Harlem Furniture store). It doesn't compare to Eurofresh but has a decent deli and isn't as crowded as Caputo's.

Good luck!

Caputos is still nuts. I dare to even go near Valli produce and see how bad it is there.

The good news.... they now have a sign outside that says "Now Hiring". So I would assume an opening will come soon. And also, driving past, I have noticed that they are starting to stock some dry/canned goods on the shelves.....

I hear what your saying about the prices; nobody was ever able to compete with the deli meat prices, nor the quality. My grocery bills have skyrocketed since the closing of Eurofresh and hope that these improvements do not bring about higer prices.
