There was a small fire.... nothing that did too much damage (this info from the guy who owns the liquor store in the same plaza... Jack, a great guy). While I had *hoped* they were just doing cleanup, some signs out front today confirmed they are doing one of the things I feared, improvements. Which I guess is a good thing. :) And man... don't even try going to the Caputos in Palatine. The place has been constantly mobbed since Eurofresh closed. I liked the funky out of date style it had before, and I'm afraid all the remodeling will result in higher prices. I can't wait for Eurofresh to reopen and I REFUSE paying $9/lb for lunch meat at Jewel or Domininck's. In the meantime I've been shopping at the Harvest Market in Arlington Heights (at Rand Rd. and Arlington Heights Rd. right next to the Harlem Furniture store).
