I know it isn't Chinese, but Thai Spice on Devon has very good food. Their prices are a bit high, but portions are generous. Interested in reading other reponses, as most of the Chinese in the area is average at best.

The choices for Chinese here in Rogers Park are not good, especially if you are looking for szechuan flavors. I've been disappointed so often, I've taken to ordering thai instead.

Thanks for the Thai Spice suggestion; it sounds good. I just tried Planet Thai on Rockwell and Peterson and was not terribly impressed. We tried the chicken panang curry and another chicken dish, simply called garlic and peppers. This one was weird and not edible. The curry was decent though, so I'd order that again. The spring rolls were just so-so. All in all, I'm hoping Thai Spice will be a better.

Good eats, blindingly fast delivery. I had the same go-to problem, and they solved it quite nicely. Interesting egg rolls; the filling has a bit of peanut butter in it.

Panda Panda
In Edgwewater, On Broadway near Bryn Mawr. Cheap, pretty good food. Otherwise the Blue Elephant on Devon near Broadway/Sheridan has acceptable chinese fusion type food.

It's been a long time since I lived in Rogers Park. So both of these places might be out of business now. But when I lived there, here were my 2 places.

Ming's Chop Suey
6546 N Sheridan
Chicago

Typical Cantonese, but very good for many many years.

Tien Tsin
7018 N. Clark St.
Chicago, IL 60626-2406
(773) 761-2820

This is more Mandarin style.

Tien Tsin is closed. I use Chinalite if I want Chinese food. It's reliable and fast. I haven't tried a couple of places that are on Clark (Hong Kong something - 6900 block of Clark - and another place I don't even know the name of.)

Thanks for the word on Tien Tsin. I'm sorry to hear they are closed. I loved their sizzling rice soup and glazed apples and bananas. We moved from Rogers Park about 8 years ago.

I believe they also had a place up in Wilmette on Green Bay. I wonder if that's still open or even if the 2 had anything to do with one another other than the same name.

Mei Shung, considered by many former posters here to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in the city, delivers to NE Rogers Park. The food is at least solid all the way around, and many find some offerings, especially on the Taiwanese portion of the menu, to be stellar. One bad thing is that the delivery is slow, usually around 30-45 minutes. Mei Shung is on Broadway just south of Bryn Mawr across the street from St Ita's.

If you can find a place that delivers south of Howard, you're a better man than I, so to speak. Ditto the Thai spots in Evanston, other than Thai Peppers on Howard and Dodge. I haven't found one yet that does. Boooo!
