I am always hunting for great sausages. Just called Zuber's, they are not federal approved and thus cannot [legally] ship. Is there a local source for Zuber's? Do any of you get Zuber landjaeger shipped, or do you all go to the store in Wisconsin? The person I spoke to was very nice and gave me the name of another shop that they apparently supply, Baumgartner's Cheese Store, and she said maybe they will ship. Anybody heard of this place?

Last time I had Zubers was at a gas station somewhere in Wisconsin. You may want to check out Joe's Market on Western Av.I believe Joe will ship if you are not in the area.

Here's a link to the last Landjaeger thread.

Cappy,

Heard of Baumgartner's? Hell, I'm still tasting the limburger and onion sandwich I had there 5-years ago. That was the strongest, stinkiest old socks of a cheese I have ever eaten.

Baumgartner's, located in Monroe, Wisconsin, the heart of cheese country, is on the town square and as much a local tavern as cheese shop. Murals of the Swiss Alps on the walls, peanuts on the bar, sausage, brat, cheese and, of course, limburger sandwiches.

If you ever visit Baumgartner's in the same general area is The Mustard Museum in Mount Horeb, a must-visit on the Chowhound Wisconsin tour.

As far as Baumgartner's shipping landjage, I will include a link to their web site, give them a call. Me, I like either Joe The Sausage King on Western, Paulina for lamb sticks and whatever type landjager Resi's Bierstube on Irving sells.

Enjoy,
Gary
