<content> I had a business lunch yesterday at South Water Kitchen. I had appetizers-- a salad of spinach, beets, and goat cheese, and "mussels steamed in chowder-style broth with bacon leeks potato and celery." The salad was excellent but the mussels were beyond that. The best mussels I've had since the Cadieux Cafe in Detroit. At least 15, piled high in a soup bowl, with the broth lurking underneath like dessert. Absolutely fresh, not an off taste or a grain of sand in the bowl.
The salad was a good buy at $6. The mussels were $8. The mussels would have been plenty for a meal all by themselves. Highly recommended.
