I'm meeting a friend for lunch. He's on the South Beach diet. I have no idea what that is, but does anyone have any suggestions for a place conducive to such a diet? He's near Dearborn/Washington and I'm near Adams/Wacker. Anywhere in between would be good. We'd prefer sit-down, service over fast-food.
Thanks,
Schatz

If his diet is what I think it is, a variation on the Atkins, one suggestion that comes to mind would be the well regarded Siam Rice, plenty of Thai dishes can be low carb/mostly meat (beef salad etc). The space and setting is also very nice for a business lunch. About 150 South Wells.

thanks - I generally find it by turning left from my Girlfriend's office building - not the most precise of directions.

Chef Randy Zweiban at Nacional 27 has just added a new low carb atkin like section to his menu. I tasted them on Tuesday and they are great. Chef John Hogan of Keefer's Restaurant has 2 new items on his special menu that are low carb. All of the above meet South Beach and Atkins criteria.

Brian's Juice Bar on Randolph has some nice fresh food options that would probably be consistent with most diets. It's mostly a sub shop, but there are tons of other menu items also.
