<content>Does anyone have any information/opinions on either of these places in Greektown:

Barrel - 820 W. Jackson Blvd

or

Byzantium - 232 S. Halsted, Chicago

The family and I once walked into an empty Barrel around 6 PM, it looked really interesting, but just not quite for a family dinner. We have no experience with Byzantium.

Thanks

Rob

<content>Hey, Rob &amp; co. -- sorry I can't be there tomorrow. But you might have a better time skipping Barrel; took the family there on a pure whim some months ago, and our opinion was this is a bar that should stick to the potables and forget the food. Tough, greasy octopus. So-so chicken. And from what I remember my son receiving, an average gyros. Plus service that definitely disappointed; they had a large private party occuping most of the main dining area, we took a table by the window near the bar, and were forgotten most of the evening. Plus an error on our check -- our server totally forgot one of the entrees but charged us anyway. (We caught it, but no apology of any sort from the manager.)
