Thanks very much for the link. I was pleased to see my favorite local brewery, Flossmoor Station, got gold too. Their Train Wreck of Flavor won gold medals for Best of Group and also in the Experimental and Specialty Ales category. This beer is a blend of brown ale made with toasted oats and molasses together with barley wine. It was brewed nearly two years ago and aged in a Jack Daniels barrel.

I fell in love with Boulevard Pale Ale on an overnight in Kansas City a couple of years ago. The bartender told me I'd never find it in Chicago and she's been right so far. I've checked Sam's and other usual suspects to no avail. Any ideas where some might be had east of the Mississippi, or are they staying local a la New Glarus?

Yeah, that's a pretty good drink, often a default when I visit my family in Omaha. It appears the Quad Cities are your closest bet. This distributor is listed on their website:

Rock Valley Beverage, Inc.
350 44th St., Bldg. 83
Rock Island, IL 61201
Phone: (309) 779-0500

You could call and find out how far you'd have to drive to get some.
