Years back, Zambrana's, a specialty food shop on Clark, south of Fullerton, made their own toffee that was unsurpassed. Zambrana's is long gone and I'm looking for a candy store or other purveyor that has the real stuff.

The best toffee I have ever had came from Enstrom's (in Colorado). Funny, but it was a gift from a friend in Chicago!

It really is the best stuff out there!!

They have a website (link below) and they are offering an upgrade to 2nd day air if you order by 12/21!

I think there was a plug for Enstrom's in the November 2002 (maybe December, not sure) Gourmet magazine. The toffee sounded delish.

I'll check it out. My Glenview forays have been limited to the great Italian food at Gusto Italiano on Waukegan Road, but the prospect of both toffee and truffles may require me to drive a little further. Thanks.
