Food is Italian with a warm, fun atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and the restaurant has proven to be consistent for decades. I'm trying to think what's good and cheap downtown, though. The bar menu at Brasa (3rd and Lenora) is fairly inexpensive yet substantial and quite good (especially the lamb burger and the steak frites), and Tamara Murphy is easily one of the best chef's in Seattle, so that would be my recommendation.
