There was an excellent summary a while back of Loop eateries (by Harry V. I think) that mentioned a burrito place on the 200 W. block of Van Buren. I can't locate the message but want to visit the place. Can someone please remind me of the name, location, what to order, and whether it is still there? thanks!

Harry has written in detail about Burrito Buggy a couple times. Here’s a link to an older post. Also see his post from 7/29/02 (Greektown thread).

The burrito buggy is actually that-- they have a tiny hot-serve delivery wagon that used to park on Van Buren between the CBOT and the CBOE around lunchtime. My impression is that they also went around to other areas of the south Loop, a burrito-mobile if you will. It's probably worth looking for on the street, if you're down in that area around lunch.

I've eaten at both - the location on VanBuren and the buggy itself. I greatly prefer the VanBuren location (more selection, fresh preparation, etc), though a mobile burrito is a great thing in a pinch!

Thanks, guys! I'll be going on Tuesday, so I can order the grilled chicken. It's always a miracle to hear of a great place in the Loop.

Since you're going on Tuesday, I'll mention that on Tuesdays and Thursdays they feature a formidable but delicious "BBQ chicken" burrito, filled with mashed potatoes instead of refried beans, corn and of course grilled, chopped chicken breast in a terrific, somewhat sweet chipotle sauce. This baby will really fill you up but it is tasty indeed. Just a thought if you want a burrito rather than a taco.

Hope you like the place, and that the aroma from Frank's Shrimp doesn't put you off too much.

although there's nothing else similar within the Loop... Give me a real taqueria any day of the week! :)

I always find their meet to be indisinguishable between the types (meaning I can't tell the difference between the steak, chicken and pork). Their always these tiny little nuggets...

I guess I'm just saying that I have gotten spoiled eating at "real" burrito places (having the steak chopped up before put into my burrito)... In all honesty, I think I'd pick "Chipotle" over Burrito Buggy when in the Loop... Just my opinion of course.
