Me and the Ex had dinner at the Bluepoint Oyster Bar (corner of Randolph and Halsted) last night. We split a pretty good Ceasar salad, and the waiter-in-training was overdoing his niceness lesson somewhat. But the real highpoint was a whole, roasted red snapper (a nightly special). An incredibly fresh fish, done to perfection rested on a bed of very nice grilled summer vegetables. They were not very busy, and the fish took its time swimming to our table, but it was obvious that someone in the kitchen had lavished a lot of effort cooking the dish. Not a steal at $25, but we split it, so it wasn't too bad. But i could have eaten the whole thing myself. Seafood lovers should consider a trip to the weary Randolph street restaurant corridor-- especially if money is only a medium kind of consideration.
