Anybody know any good places for Philly cheesesteak?

There is a bar / restaurant at Grand and Ogden called Twisted Spoke that has damn fine Philly. The fries are killer too. It does not include the traditional canned mushroom and cheese wiz that you find in Philadelphia, but I consider that a good thing. Give it a try.

I can recommend AGAINST Philly's Best. (got food poisoning, at the Evanston location, yay - only mild, thank goodness, but there were 2 of us eating there from my office and we both got it)

Yes. Stay away from the Evanston location. I got ill there too. However, the best PCS is the one you make yourself. Just fry up a skirt steak, shred it. Set aside. Then, use the grease (you may have to add some more) to fry some thinly sliced onions, add some sliced mushrooms. Throw the steak back in and melt some grated fontina cheese. Serve the resulting mess on a split, toasted french roll. Drink beer. Enjoy.

My daughter took me to a place called the Hoagie Hut in Highwood. There was cheesesteak on the menu, and she recommended it
