Dining Recommendations Close To Calgary Airport?
C-Town is certainly booming.
I am unable to secure a hotel room in downtown Calgary so may have to stay overnite close to the airport.
Any places relatively close by that are worth a taxi ride?
I have, but would rather not spend the $ this trip, taken a taxi into Kensington and/or Stephen's Avenue and back before previously.

Bob- there is a plethora of ethnic dining in the NE as you probably know- and what many people consider the best Thai place in town, Thai Boat, is around Mcknight at Barlow (I think- maybe 32nd Ave and Barlow?). Also, the Carvers steakhouse at the Sheraton is supposed to be fantastic.

Bob-
Correcto- and there are LOTS of hotel plans in the works now (I am still in skyscraperpage.com mode as I write this- all this development news is head-spinning exciting), but for now you see the problems. Look for at least three new hotel towers- two in the vicinity of Eau Claire and one near MEC on 10th Ave- to be unwrapped soon.
As to hotels- I have heard glowing reviews for St Germain, which is attached to the new Hotel Arts (this was the Holiday Inn on 1st that was completely gutted to make way for the first real boutique hotel in the city). I am confident that this place (the resto I mean, and maybe the hotel as well) is right up your alley.-

There is a review of St.Germain in the most recent FastForward issue. Ive included the link below.

re: Kelly
Did anybody else get the feeling the reviewers must have been awful customers? For the server to have to pass them off to the owner, and for both of them to behave coldly gives me the suspicion that the guests were being a handful rather than that the service was poor. Couldn't help but wonder
