Will Peters Drive-in Calgary Survive?

Does anyone know if Peters Drive in will survive the 16th avenue N expansion? Some worried onion-ring lovers want to know.

Yes. Peters is set back from the road expansion. Even if it did have to close (which it does NOT have to do), rest assured it would reopen somewhere else. it does spectacular biz year round.

I could not locate the actual article but I do recollect reading in one of the Edmonton or Calgary newspapers that the original "Peter" or is it "Pieter" was calling it quits.

Going strictly from memory I thought someone other than "family" purchased the place and was going to keep the same menu with the former owner on for awhile as a "consultant".

Had a spell of bad publicity last year with a number ecolli complaints...contaminated marshmallow topping in the milkshakes as I recollect.

I have easy access to a news clipping service, so I just did a search. I found a Dec. article in the Herald and the Journal that said there was a young couple taking over for Pieter, but that he would still be involved, and that the food and service wouldn't change.

And the E-coli thing was last spring for one day, due to a sick worker who contaminated the milkshakes.
