En Japanese - Vancouver
i think it's on granville and 12th. this is a hidden gem. i've been there twice, each on a snowboarding trip to whistler. another friend has been there four or five times.
this place can be described as japanese fusion and is the type of food you'd find at nobu in nyc, but is more well-priced.
the open kitchen exudes friendliness, as illustrated by the ease with which yami the owner/chef will come out and talk to you.
i wholeheartedly think you should go and support this gem.
I haven't been to this restaurant either, and am wondering the same. Everytime I've passed by, it seems very slow inside.
It's a very inconspicuous storefront, which may explain why some may not have seen or heard of it.
The menu has some interesting items - do let us know how it is if you decide to visit!
And for those that are not familiar with the name, it's Vij's, not Vig's. Don't forget about his equally as marvelous casual eatery next door, Rangoli -- which serves up some delicious spice oriented fare that can be taken out in handy vac pac pouches, or enjoyed in his small cafeteria-like seating.
