We are planning to be in Ottawa next weekend. Where is the best place for Dim Sum on Sunday?

Also would like any recommendations for Friday and Sat dinners in the downtown, market area. Would prefer to walk to dinner from downtown hotel.

Either Italian or French, more inforaml than formal and good wine list.

Black Cat Cafe on Murray St. in downtown market very good food and reasonable prices. Good wine list too.

Sorry I can't recommend a dim sum restaurant as I am also looking for one. The one we frequented just closed last week.

Black Cat just got a great review in the local paper, The Ottawa Citizen.

I like the Yangtze for Dim Sum. If you want to beat the crowds, be sure to make a reservation.

Yangtze Dining Lounge isn't bad for Dim Sum, I haven't tried all of the smaller places but on a Saturday or Sunday when traffic is high you can be sure you'er eating Dim Sum at it's freshest. There's also the place across the street which is quite good (both locations are on somerset east of booth in chinatown).

Not sure abut french but Vittoria Trattoria has decent Italian, and I believe Café Spiga (although a portugese/italian mix on the menu) does some decent dishes.
