Does anyone know of good places to eat up there? Sat May 25 09:20:00 -0700 2002 0 Abra 1 13755 I believe the area north of Chelan: Methow, Brewster and on up to Oroville has no fine dining to speak of. There are two places in Chelan: 1) Campbells, which is good but not very impressive unless you live in the isolated area and it's the only "nice" place within 50 miles; and 2) the Apple Cafe (or the Apple Inn or Apple Something), which has character but not much more than old-fashioned greasy faire. The area is dependent on apple farming, and it's been hit by a devastating crunch of low apple prices, an export market for apples that disappeared, and oversupply. Lots of people just scraping to get by. I believe there is a restaurant named Horan House in Wenatchee that is outstanding but I've never been there.
