...check out Primo Burger on the corner of Roosevelt and 65th. Classic burger shop fare with a Hawaiian twist. Burgers, chicken sandwiches, shakes -- all immaculately prepared with expert attention paid to every detail. Piping hot meat, the freshest hamburger buns (just warmed, melt in your mouth), a light spread of their delicious shoyu-mayo, fresh lettuce, tomato, etc... Great fries, too -- whole potatoes, cross cut w/ skin on, fresh fried, lightly salted -- delicious!! Conveniently open 7 days a week until 9PM (8 on Sunday).

Cap'n Crunch,

Thanks so much for the 411 on Primo Burgers -- I drive past that place all the time and was oh so curious -- now I will go for sure! I do love that inimitable Hawaiian flavor...

About your heading -- I am one of those people that refers to Whole Foods as "Whole Paycheck"...so much fun, but such an expensive little experience it can be.

Yes, it certainly can -- a trip to Whole Foods requires strategy, planning and restraint. I only go after picking up the basics at Safeway or Fred Meyer and gorging myself on 2 chicken Primo burgers and an order of fries! I've found this to be more or less effective in ensuring I at least have money left over for gas and electricity to cook/refrigerate my WF bounty ;-). -- C'pn

I'll second half of this recommendation: I thought the burgers were underwhelming, but the fries were quite good.

Karl -- If you haven't already, give their chicken sandwich a try. I order this almost every time I go. I have tried their burger once and, while it was quite good, I agree there are better ones to be had. I'm most impressed by their attention to quality and detail. Hard to find at that price. -- C'pn
