I have just finished reading a posted message about Victoria's cuisine. It's doesn't really do Victoria justice at all. While the writers picks are certainly good, there is so much more. For breakfast, must certainly go to John's Place for eggs benny on a fresh bagel, with home fries. It is absolutely the best I've ever had, and trust me, I've kept up the search to find better. The seating is a tad unusual, in that it's "carnival seating" meaning that you are very tightly seated to your neighbours. For his lunch pick, I can't argue. Eugene's is amazing. But why not try The Med Grille, or Warfside Eatery. Both are very good. The Med Grille specializes in Mediterranian food of course, but you can also get your average fare as well. Warfside specializes in seafood. And as you can tell by the name, it's on the water, and has great views. And of course dinner. You haven't dined until you've dined at San Remo. This is a tiny, quaint restaraunt about 6 or 7 miles out of the downtown core. Any cabbie will know where to go. The food is greek, and amazing. If you're planning on going on a Friday or Saturday night, you can expect a wait of up to an hour at peak times, as they don't take reservations. San Remo has a sister restaraunt in the downtown area called Villa Rosa. The food is more Italian, but equally as good. You also can't go wrong with Il Teratso. I think I have the spelling correct. The menu is diverse, and the location is central to everything. The wine cellar is two stories high. Enjoy Victoria next time you visit!
