Richtree Market Restaurant

  • e

After Fresh on Bloor on Saturday afternoon, yesterday afternoon we went to Richtree Market Restaurant on York Mills and Bayview (formerly Marché). We hadn't been there since the name change so we decided to go back. Boy, what a mistake! Not only has the quality of the food gone way down (Rösti which was my favourite dish back when it was Marché was almost completely tasteless) the price was outrageous. $135 for 4 people (incl. a main dish, desert, drink, and in my case a salad as well)! There was something special about that Mövenpick name when they were using it. Now that they've broken that tie, the restaurant is no longer worth it. I don't think we'll be going back.

  1. I had Rosti at the Front Street Richtree Market on Sunday and it was fine. But agree the prices are ridculous.

prices are not only rediculous, but its SO easy to rack up a huge bill since there are so many things to pick from, you tend to order too many things without noticing.

    2. ok guys I went last saturday .,the enviroment was really good and the food acceptable. But you are right, the price is a little extravagant.,plus parking 7 dollars.
anyway for try it was very well but no again.

I have to agree with the poster. Richtree at York Mills and Bayview is a travesty. When it was called Movenpick, the food was quite good. The food has gone downhill in the most severe way.

Another place crossed off the list, permanently.

      2. Even when it was Movenpick, it was way too expensive for food you have to walk for. Now the Bistretto and La Pecherie, where Flow currently is in Yorkville, now, those were 2 really good restaurants.

        1. Tell me about it! I've been there twice and both times it was absolutely blah and tasteless. It was bad all-you-can-eat bar quality. But I wouldn't call it expensive, however.

          1. Only time I go there is after 9:00 p.m. to pick up the breads and buns for $1.00 a bag

Hmmm...not a bad idea bbbradk. Might work well for a bread pudding or something like that.
