Julia's out in Oakville
Well unfortunately I had a negative experience twice now at Julia's restaurant out in Oakville.
Last weekend I called up & said I'd be there in about 30 minutes, but we were delayed & it took us 40-45 minutes.
The manager wouldn't let us in saying the kitchen was closed & they were supposed to be open for another 50 minutes until 11 pm.
My date wasn't happy & nothing was even offered to compensate us for driving all the way over there.
Then by accident (memory failed me LOL) I took someone else there this past Sat. & said, ok, let's see how it goes.
I won't go into all the details, but the food wasn't even worth half the price of what the cost was & it's very expensive.
What really upset my date was the fact that at the end, they dared to tack on the 15% gratuity even though we were a party of 2, NOT 6.
Because of that, my date only tipped 10% & get this, the manager followed us outside to ask what the problem was.
When the manager came back with the revised bill, he lied saying it was a mistake about the tip being added on, but then outside after he followed us out, he said that us only giving 10% is exactly why we add on the 15%.
I tend not to like to give money to liars. Not sure why, LOL.
My date was very upset at this point & went back in 1 minute later & took the $10 tip back so the waitress got nothing in the end & she never even apologized for the error which was clearly intentional.
I wrote to Julia herself from her website detailing the food & what happened twice now with the same manager & it's been a couple of days now, so we'll see if she will respond back.
It was a $100 bill & my date wasn't hungry & so he only drank & had a soup & brachetta.
Just thought I'd forwarn people, as us foodies need to stick together LOL
