        <content>Does anybody know of a butcher near downtown Toronto that sells black (or white) pudding? These are also sometimes know as 'blood pudding' and are wuite popular in Ireland and Britain.

      <content>Anglo/Irish black pudding is much more prevalent in Toronto than white.  In the past I have seen it in local Loblaws and Dominions.
 
Although not downtown, two places that can serve as your backups are Allen's Scottish Butchers on Weston Road in Weston and Meat on the Beach on Queen Street in the Beaches.  Call first.
 
Something to try might be Portuguese black pudding. Not sure how it compares, but it is made locally in Mississauga by Borges as well as by some butchers. It's available west of Spadina, pretty well anywhere north of Dundas up to Eglinton (Fiesta Farms on Christie, Dominion on College at Shaw, etc).
