Gladstone food?

Has anyone eaten at the new Gladstone hotel yet? I've always loved that building and am thrilled to see it revived. I'd like to pop in for drinks to check it out and am wondering if it's worth staying for the food as well.

In the daytime their cafe is open to serve lunch in a nice, sunny space on the very corner of Dufferin and Queen (you don't notice the traffic). At night the cafe turns into the special events bar so only the main bar serves food.

Do they have a dining room or is it just the front bar?

I've only been to the bar and I've never seen a separate dining room. One wall is mirrored and it always makes me feel like there is another room, but no. But as bars go, it is nice, and there are some big booths.

I've eaten there twice now and the food's been very good. Well presented, fresh ingredients and a healthy step above the usual pub grub.

I was there pre-christmas for an appetizer menu gathering, and the food was great! The majority was preprepared, but it was hot and plentiful. The drinks were also a reasonable cost. However, if you are driving, PARKING WAS A NIGHTMARE!

Haven't been there for dinner, but I think their nighttime menu is mostly fancied-up pub food. If you're looking for a really casual spot it would do. Lunch is the cafe is pretty good though, particularly the Ploughman's Lunch.
