Seattle - Queen Anne BBQ

j

Just saw this morning that Queen Anne Avenue will now be home to "Shirleys Bar B Que" in the spot which in the past year has housed "Best Toast" and the "Java Deli"....

Why is it that I get the feeling that this will go the way of the past two establishments ?????????

I'm curious what kind of market research these people do before deciding what to do next.

Cheers
John

Is Shirley's the first of its kind? Never heard of it.
Yeah, that space is cursed. And barbecue on Queen Anne seems like a bit of a stretch, doesn't it? I mean, where are they going to actually do the slow barbecuing? I don't think that space has a parking lot behind it, so unless they're going to install some serious ventilation ($$$)....

"Why is it that I get the feeling that this will go the way of the past two establishments ?????????"
It's because the phrase "Queen Anne BBQ" is, in and of itself, ridiculous. Kind of like "tripe a la Medina" or "Laurelhurst chitlins." Just oxymoronic, or sumpin'.

Signs say it will open tomorrow (12/10), and be open until 9p.
