Any Indian food on the PATH? And Opinion on Spice Cafe

Indian Flavour has gone (at least it's all boarded up) in the new TD foodcourt. Any "hounds" know of a decent Indian alternative in the area?? (Ind Flv wasn't great to begin with...I think it was much better when it was in it's previous location (bulldozed for Bymark) but when you have to have it....)
Have tried Spice Cafe on Temperance - run by nice well meaning folks, and we really need good reasonably priced Indian food in this part of town, but we couldn't understand how expensive a lunch could be - on tiny plastic disposable plates, with plastic cutlery, when eating in (as opposed to takeaway) - 2 Vindaloo with rice, (which was the daily special) 1 okra side dish, 1 raitha, a Samosa, a Coke and a Perrier added up to $37 something (including tip). And how S-L-O-W... we were the ONLY patrons, and having placed our order at the counter we watched this crazy dance in which we were told to take a seat, the woman who took our order passed it on to some bloke who came out of the back and spent an age spooning it onto the aforementioned tiny plastic plates as though it were as precious as............. well $37 food I guess. (I think there was some innocent mistake at the cash desk - we are not suggesting anything else - hey they are new)
Was the food good? I like VERY spicy (HOT) food, so I appreciated the fact that their beef vindaloo had guts. But there were chunks of fat attached to some of the beef that I couldn't take. Fresh crisply cooked okra is very hard to get in any Indian rest, so their attempt was o.k. Nothing else was memorable.
Give these guys a chance - we need them, and they are very receptive to feedback. And they have a great patio, so you can get out of the PATH gehtto and get your sinuses cleared out before you have to go back to your nasty boss at the bank!

There's a new (well, about a month or two old) indian restaurant under BCE called Tamarind. The food is tasty enough, but somewhat expensive for what you get. One item (comes with rice and salad) costs $5.99, two items (one meat and one veg) costs $6.99, and naan costs an extra $2. The price would be a lot better if naan was included (or $1 at most) and you got a bit more food. Even a one-item combo with naan and a drink will set you back about $11.

There are 2 new indian restaurants in the path now -
Amaya express in the upstairs food court in First Canadian Place, and another indian place (can't remember the name) in the food court underneath Hy's (adelaide and york).

I've tried Amaya and will recommend it. Good value and great food. You get rice, naan and a meat/veg for $6.99. Other than that, I've found Indian food in the path to be crap.

There is a restaurant called "Sandwich World" in the PATH at Richmond Adelaide Centre which serves Indian fast food. It's not particularly authentic, but it's pretty cheap - $4 or $5 dollars with tax.

Right! They're run by South Asians and used to only serve chicken schnitzel and tuna pasta etc. but now includes several kinds of curries and biryanis. Filling and CHEAP!

There is Nash`Tah Tandoori Grill in First Canadian Place in their upper level food court. Not the greatest, but it is Indian food in the path. :)

Here's a description of the place:

For a delicious change of pace at lunch, discover Nash`Tah Tandoori Grill - where you can savour the fragrant spices and exotic flavours of Indian cuisine. Among the most popular items on the menu are sizzling wraps, made with your choice of grilled steak, chicken or tandoori chicken. Light tandoori salads feature skinless and boneless chicken breast on a green salad topped with yogurt-garlic dressing. It`s a healthy choice, as tandoori is low in fat and very little oil is used in the curries. Experiment during your lunch hour and enjoy a delicious world of difference at Nash`Tah.

It's on Temperance street - which is one block north of Adelaide, runs west off Yonge.
