The Bier Markt on the Esplanade has a good selection of beers..."over 100 brands of beer from 24 countries" according to their website.
I've had good luck there.

Allen's on the Danforth; and a great patio in the back...

One of the best patios in the city IMHO.

Smokeless Joes and Beer Bistro are two... do a search down, I am sure someone asked this question a little while ago...
Good luck!

Yeah, I think Smokeless Joe wins on pure numbers. I believe they advertise over 250 bottled beers. Prices range from $5-$26 for bottles. And decent food too, especially the various flavours of mussels. I recommend it if you don't have too many people (quite a small place).

Two places I recommend, especially for Ontario craft beers (and great imports) ... Cafe Volo on Yonge and Dundonald (1 block north of Wellesley, and they also have great food), and C'est What? at Church and Front -- many, many micros on tap and good food(I'm particularly fond of their lambburger).
Both places have cask conditioned ales on tap, so they are definitely worth visiting.

Cest what - while I do TOTALLY agree with MTC on the choises at Cest What, they could be giving the beer away for free and I still wouldn't go there. They, im my opinion, the worst service in the city.

Seconded. My wife and I went there after having it suggested by several friends. When we walked in, we received a sort of nod toward an empty table to indicate 'go sit there,' and then we were promptly ignored for the next 20 minutes, while we sat at the dirty, sticky table with dirty cutlery and no menus. We were just getting up to leave, and the waitress finally came back with menus... basically, dropped them off at the table and took off without so much as a 'how are you?'
We left and ended up at the Richmond Rogue. Not a huge selection, but great atmosphere and great service.

Although my experiences haven't been as bad as Craig's, I agree C'est What has the worst service in the city. I find myself going back about once a year, just to check if there's been any improvement...sadly there never is. It is such a shame, too...it used to be the pub of choice.

I generally sit at the bar, and the bartenders are fairly good, so I can't comment on the floor service. With any luck, these postings will be brought to the management's attention and they'll improve ... I would hate to lose such a great beer selection to lost business due to bad service.

Unfortunately, this topic has been discussed countless times and the situation has never changed which leaves me to believe that the management is not aware of this problem or is aware and has no plans or desire to do anything about it.

actually... they might very well be aware at this point.
i posted about going a while back on this thread and what happened to us. turns out that one of my friends present recounted the ordeal to his work buddies and one of them knows the owner of said bar.
i'd like to think that with such ridiculous happenings, he would have mentioned it to his friend. if anything.... a letter always does wonders.

I've had mixed service from the bar as well. Had one bad experience from the bartender that really put me off. I rarely go in now.

I might be terribly biased in this, but I think the Richmond Rogue is amazing. It's right across the street from me, so I do consider it a bit of my local. Great pub food, amazing service, and a typical beer list. But their beef ribs on a Thursday night are the best anywhere!

In Toronto:
Smokeless Joe's (over 250 bottled varieties)
Beerbistro (amazing varieties with food pairings for many of their beers)
In Hamilton:
Chester's Beers of the World (at last count well over 350 varieties - the beer list is like a small novel - food ain't fancy, but generally okay and inexpensive - think diner meets pub fare)

The Only Cafe at Danforth and Donlands is a great little bar with 10-15 premium/microbrewery beers on tap (inlcuding various quebec brands, though the selection rotates seasonally), and more than 120 international beer brands by the bottle. Great, if grungy, ambience and the coolest, most laid back wait staff on the Danforth.
Add to that one of the city's best weekend brunches, and sandwiches made from meat roasted on the premises and you can't go wrong!
