Heya all,
I'm going to be hard-core Fringing for the next week, so I’m wondering if you have any good suggestions for places to refuel between shows in the Annex and Factory Theatre (King and Bathurst) neighbourhoods? A pit stop for mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce at Future Bakery is a Festival tradition, and there's more indifferent sushi than you can shake a fish at (shaking a fish...sounds a bit like a Fringe performance...) along Bloor, but I'm wondering if you might have any other suggestions for me?

A suggestion I can offer Fringers is "The Stronger...a Variation". I saw it yesterday, and it was funny, smart and amazing! And also--air-conditioning; everything you could want in a Fringe play...
Fringily,
Mandy

in the annex, you could do worse than the victory cafe. decent pub grub, nice selection of draft, and a great patio. it's on markham st., just south of bloor. i think they might actually be a fringe venue, too. you could also hit kilgour's (bloor and howland). much better than average pub grub, and a very laid-back atmosphere.

For quick food on the go, try Ghazal (sp?). It's tiny, middle-eastern eatery, just east of the Bloor Cinema. They're food is very tasty and inexpensive. They have falafel, shwarma, samosas... No room to eat in the shop though, so it really is just a pit stop. :)

Fresh by far is still my favourite in that neighbourhood - the only thing to warn you about may be the service time since they are sometimes overcrowded. Their salads are great, the rice / noodle dishes are a bit heavy if you aren't too hungry, and I love the cornbread, hummus, and cheesecake (non-dairy).

And I second the middle-eastern fare stop at the Bloor Cinema, I usually get a spinach pie to when I am seeing a movie there.
