<content>Tried this Pakistani place out while I was home for the holidays and was quite impressed. I was looking for kebabs, and we were going to revisit my long-ago faithful, Chandni Chowk, on Gerrard but decided to try this place out since it recently opened and was in the neighbourhood.

After they told us it was buffet-only (on weekends) I was ready to split, but only after taking a look at the spread. They had kebabs, seekh &amp; bihari, as well as some tandoori chicken, so the bbq option could still work here. Also saw that they had nihari, haleem, and a goat curry, and that's when I was sold - nihari &amp; haleem being 2 of my favourite dishes in the cuisine. They also had a chicken biryani, some fried fish, and a few other things for entrees (which I don't recall). They also had some chaat-type stuff for apps which I skipped on, with the exception of a few pani pooris.

The bbq was good, not great, but certainly better than the great majority of options in the area. Wouldn't be a destination place for the kebabs, but I'd likely order them again there. Haleem was good on the flavour, but too low of a meat:daal ratio. Nihari was outstanding, def'y the highlight. Huge pieces of boneless meat, and a rich &amp; flavourful sauce. Goat curry also very good. Didn't try the dessert - gulab jaman - but did have a competent mango lassi. I think the buffet price was $12, but could've been $14.

Zero ambiance, but then again, I don't expect that when going to these restaurants. They had some music/party that cut into the end of our meal which was mildly irritating and could've been moreso if I hadn't been basking in an overdistended, gluttonous euphoria.

The menu looked very promising and I'd like to return here to try it out on a non-buffet night (ie. weekdays). They even have maghaz (brain), for those of us not afraid of a little prion in our diet. The restaurant is a chain apparently, with a few other locations in San Diego, Phoenix (maybe), and a couple others.
