I'm going to Coronitas tonight---it's a new Mexican restaurant on Queen Anne. Please let me know what I should try. And I'll post a "review" soon in case you're curious.

My sweetie and I have been to Coronitas twice. We've enjoyed the queso fundito, empanadas, baby back ribs, enchiladas, and indian fry bread (the best part of dinner at the otherwise dysfunctional Cactus in Madison Park, which was started long ago by the owner of Coronitas).

We had a small scare about the indian fry bread: when we tried to order it on our last visit, we misunderstood the waitress to be saying that they had decided not to serve it any more, when she was really saying that they had run out that night.

well well well. It turns out, without any warning or a sign on the door, coronitas just decided not to open last night. Lame.
The sign on the door says "open nightly from 5pm-10pm". Apparently nightly doesn't include tues? We were very disappointed.

went to 96 union instead. they just opened in the old Leo Melina space (1st and union). overall, it was okay. we had 3 apps---the best was a polenta cake with gorgonzola cream. the prawns came in second place (good, but not great) and bringing up the rear were the lamb kabobs (overcooked, tough, and served with lentils---they needed something)
          salads were good
entrees were, well....the gnocchi bolognese is good, the salmon i ordered was 2 days past fresh, the steak was yummy.
so, overall, wait a couple of weeks or a month and then try them. they need to get the kitchen kinks worked out.
