Cru

anyone know anything about Cru on the Kingsway. Is it related to the Vancouver restaurant just chosen as one of Top 10 in Canada?

Lol, it is NOT related to the restaurant in Vancouver. More of a lame knock-off of the name. The place is owned by previous Sir Corp. staff I believe. So I would expect it to be your average bland corporate 'trying too hard' type of place.

Been there a couple times and we've enjoyed it. They have a nice prix fixe menu for under $30 and wine prices are reasonable.

Both the chef and sommelier I think were at Sumac Ridge or some other Okanagan winery operating the Cellar Door Bistro there along with experience at Lumiere, Rain City Grill, etc. before opening Cru.

Small plates, great well selected wine list, casual up-beat atmosphere...definitely a spot like Parkside closer to Stanley Park that I would repeatedly go back to if living in or visiting the Vancouver area.

Thanks for the review on the Vancouver restaurant, however, we are looking for reviews on Cru located in Toronto.

We've gone there a couple of times about a year ago (we live very close by). We thought that the service was excellent, the food was very good, the value was mediocre, the wines very good to excellent.
