I don't know about your licorice but Viking Smoke House in Leaside has a lot of Finnish "goodies." If they don't have it, they may be able to give you advice.

They make Finnish baked goods like Pulla and Pirrakka and smoke their own meats.

Nothing commercial, I'm just a satisfied customer.

I'm not in Toronto so I can't look up the address in the phone book. However, it's on Laird St. about three blocks South of Eglinton.

I drive 200 miles to get Pirrakka and Pulla for my daughters.

The Viking Deli is at 133 Laird Drive. If that doesn't work out, you could try The Finnish Place at 5463 Yonge Street, although they seem to be mainly clothes (Marimekko) and housewares (Iittala).

Laird runs parallel to Bayview (next main light to the east of bayview). There is a traffic light at Laird and Eglinton -- right by a large shopping plaza with Pier 1, Future Shop, Canadian Tire, etc.

Actually, The Finnish Place does sell housewares, but you can also buy Finnish candies there. I haven't been there in a while, but I do remember them selling licorice.

My husband's cousin just came for a visit from Finland, and she brought 2 boxes and a HUGE bag of various licorice for us, including lemon and chocolate filled :D
