Two days in Niagara Falls-LONG

Went searching for good food during a two day stay in Niagara Falls, and I think we did OK considering the options available:

Stoneroad Grille: very good food, we had the goat cheese brulee and shrimp/scallop with pickled melon appetizers. For entrees, pork tenderloin and lamb shank. Everything was very good, I especially liked the depth of flavor in the sauces that came with the entrees. No room for dessert however, but it sounded good, especially the panna cotta. Great service and atmosphere and the prices were good too. Total before tip with 1/2 liter wine $83CDN.

Mai Vi: Also pretty good vietnamese food. By far not the best spring rolls I've had, but the rest of the food was good. We had a vermicelli/pork/spring roll dish and an angel hair noodles/shrimp paste on sugar cane dish. Also good prices for this meal. The service was good, but different people came over numerous times to ask if everything was OK. Also, in Asian restaurants (I'm not Asian), if I need a fork, I'll ask for one. The waitress came over with two forks on a tray and asked us if we needed them, which she didn't do for the other Asian diners. Maybe it wouldn't bug other people, but it didn't sit well with me. Total for two entrees with two cans Nestea $27CDN.

17 Noir: Didn't eat here and now I never will. The place says it's open from 11am to 4am. At 11:30pm, we wanted to go in just for dessert. I normally wouldn't do this so late, but since they weren't closing soon, I figured it wouldn't be a problem. Also, it was kind of empty, so we wouldn't be taking up "dinner space". After hovering around the entrance for about 10 minutes without even a look from anyone in there, we sat down at one of the tables in the front room. Another 15 minutes passed where we literally tried to flag down servers as they passed us, until finally one stopped and said that for dessert we had to go "upstairs". Then she disappeared. When we finally found out how to get upstairs, we asked at the desk to be seated for dessert and we were rudely told by the hostess that they were only seating for full dinners. The place was only about 1/4 full; we'd be doing them a favor by dropping 35$ for dessert and coffee, and we were considering eating lunch there the next day. Obviously that didn't happen.

I was also dissappointed that we didn't get to see any wineries, as our plan was to do that yesterday before leaving for home again. However, our hostess where we stayed suggested crossing the bridge to New York early in the day to avoid traffic and walking back. After waiting 45 mins to cross at 10:30am, we didn't have a car to be able to go to NOTL, and we figured $50 for cab fare to and from was too much, so we hung out in toursty Niagara. At 4pm when we were ready to leave, there were about 4 cars crossing the bridge. Needless to say, I was very frustrated that we wasted a whole day in Niagara.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions that I gathered from this board for where to eat. I don't know how I would have known where to go otherwise.
