forget bagels in portland---where are the good ones in seattle
For real. I can't believe how difficult it is to get a decent one. What's so tricky about making a good bagel? And if there are any really hot, good ones, where?
the best ones I've had are at Pike Place Bagel Bakery. They tend to be bigger and light. good bagels. but they don't come close to NY's.
Having scoured NYC for the bagels and having tried over a dozen of the most lauded ones, I still have to say that Seattle's own Bagel Oasis makes a better fresh bagel. They don't age very well, but that's what you get when they're made right. Frankly, the only think new york has over Bagel Oasis is the smoked sable.
