Hi: a follow up to a post awhile back about the Niagara wine country. Well, plans changed, and we're not meeting Monday so no Sunday excursion is planned. However, my flight home Sunday isn't until quite late so I will have at least two eating opportunities then (the meeting ends Sat. pm).

So, I'm open to chowhound suggestions in the downtown area. I remember years ago having excellent dim sum in Toronto, before most people (myself included) knew what it was: since dim sum is impossible to find here in Northern Nevada I would love to have suggestions. Also, there is a good chance I will be meeting some friends from CT who will be in Toronto visiting family for the Yom Kippur Holiday. Since Sunday will be their first real chance to eat out, and since they are vegetarians who love Indian food, I would love any suggestions in that genre. A while back someone posted here about a good Gujarati restaurant; I saved the post on my desktop at work, and then the computer crashed. If there is such a place, I would love to hear about it. I'm sure my friends would love an epicurean tour of Gujarati food as well (I'm actually going to see them in a week or two in Las Vegas so we'll firm up plans then....)

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

For Dim Sum, the best and most expensive is Lai Wah Heen (at the Metropolitan Hotel behind City Hall).
Unfortunately, most Indian restaurants don't open early on Sunday - but there's a whole raft of them out near the airport (Brampton), so maybe that's your best strategy. As I don't know those restaurants personally, I can't recommend anything, but the thread below may be worth exploring
