We're meeting some friends from Anchorage (we're from Knoxville) for a weekend at the Captain Whidbey Inn near Langley before Thanksgiving. We'll eat there for at least one dinner, but would appreciate suggestions on other places for lunch and dinner.
We stayed at the Inn at Langley last year and ate at a Greek restaurant up the street. Don't remember the name. It was pleasant, but not memorable. The Langley grocery store was helpful for sandwiches to take back on the ferry.
We have family in Seattle and are there several times a year. We'll probably be at Whistler in the Spring and in Vancouver in June. Any suggestions for those would be appreciated also.
Stay at the Captain Whidbey Inn, eat at the Captain Whidbey Inn.
Susan, Whidbey Island is a culinary wasteland. The Captain Whidbey is is consistently very good (you won't do better).
If you get cabin fever go into town for Chicken & jo's.
Then consider it a lessen well learned.

Langley has one memorable spot - some sort of Dog Tavern, I can't remember the name, but I remember the joint, right on the main drag. The dining room overlooks the beach. Yeah, its tavern food, but the fish and chips is outstanding, worth the trip to the island. I remembered them from summer vacations as a kid, and when I went back as a discriminating adult, they were every bit as good, if not better. Perfect for lunch, although it can get crowded. The tavern is frequented by locals and real relaxed.
