The Old Mill Inn

Can anyone recommend the Old Mill Inn for afternoon tea? Need somewhere preferably not downtown for a birthday afternoon tea.

I admit I find the old mill very fuddy duddy -- the sort of place you might take an elderly aunt you don't like very much. But that's based on a one-time evening meal experience, so the afternoons might be better. I'd vote for downtown and the King Edward or the Windsor Arms.

The one experience we had was mediocre. Summer high tea is in the garden- so nice sunny ambiance. Tea was lacking in variety and of the tea-bag variety. No clotted cream !

I went to the tea last summer. I found it mediocre as well. No clotted cream. I suggest that you look around for other places.
